Appointment

The Institute is pleased to welcome Dr. Mahesh Shahadeo Nagargoje, who has joined the Department of Biosciences and Bioengineering as Assistant Professor Gr. I, on August 7, 2026. His field of specialisation includes In Silico Clinical Trials in Stroke, Cardiovascular Biomechanics, and Medical Device Development.  

Dr. Nagargoje comes to IIT Guwahati after his Marie Curie Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Laboratory of Biological Structure Mechanics at the Department of Chemistry, Materials, and Chemical Engineering, in Politecnico di Milano, Italy. His earlier research appointments include 

• Postdoctoral work at the Technical University of Madrid 

• A stint as a Project Research Scientist at IIT Madras 

• Work as a Research Associate at SCTIMST, Trivandrum 

Notably, Dr. Nagargoje completed his PhD in Chemical Engineering at IIT Guwahati in 2022, under the supervision of Prof. Raghvendra Gupta. His thesis work was on the Physics of Single and Two-Phase Flows in Bifurcating Vessels. He also holds an MTech in Chemical Engineering from Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Technological University, Lonere, and a BE in Chemical Engineering from D Y Patil College of Engineering & Technology, Kolhapur. 

It is a pleasure to welcome Dr. Nagargoje back to the Institute and we wish him the very best for his research, teaching, and academic career at IIT Guwahati.
