Prof PS Robi, Dept of Mechanical Engineering, retired on July 31, 2026, after nearly 30 years of service at IIT Guwahati. He joined the Institute on Feb 19, 1997. IIT Guwahati is happy to welcome D. Bhrigu Kumar Lahkar to the Jyoti and Bhupat Mehta School of Health Sciences and Technology as an Assistant Professor. Dr Lahkar did his PhD in École Nationale Supérieure d'Arts et Métiers. This was followed by postdoctoral research in IIT Madras and Université Gustave Eiffel. He then worked as an Assistant Professor in ECAM LaSalle and IIT BHU.

Prof. Mohanty took charge as the Dean for Alumni, Corporate and Industrial Relations (ACIR) on April 1st, 2026.
