Held over three days in August, Ice Breaking Sessions were an important part of Saathi Counselling Cell's orientation efforts. They brought together freshers from across disciplines and hostels in a structured yet relaxed environment.

The events were designed with the needs of both undergraduate and postgraduate students in mind, and the sessions balanced practical information with genuine fun. The programme had two slots for postgraduate students and three vibrant evening sessions for the undergraduates.
The sessions tried to ensure that as students stepped into a new academic and social landscape, they did so with an understanding of the support available to them and a growing circle of familiar faces around them.
Each session kicked off with an insightful presentation by our college counsellors titled "Introduction to Counselling Services in IITG." The counsellors introduced the dedicated support ecosystem available on campus, emphasizing mental health awareness and encouraging students to proactively seek guidance whenever needed.

Following the orientation, the energy shifted to an array of lively, interactive ice-breaker games designed by student coordinators. These activities quickly dissolved first-year jitters, sparking spirited conversations, laughter, and peer camaraderie across batches. The evenings culminated in high-energy DJ nights, giving the freshers an unforgettable taste of campus life and a memorable start to their IIT Guwahati journey.
