IIT Guwahati Students Spread Joy on Raksha Bandhan

The Social Service Club (SSC) and Awareness Club joined hands on 28th August 2026, to celebrate Raksha Bandhan through an outreach initiative centered on gratitude, community spirit, and inclusion.

Student volunteers visited various hostel messes and administrative facilities across campus to tie rakhis to mess workers and support staff, expressing sincere appreciation for their tireless daily contributions.  

The New SAC Foyer was decorated as a central hub where students and staff gathered to share sweets and festive greetings.

Broadening the celebration beyond campus boundaries, the team visited Jyoti Snehalaya Children's Home in Beltola, Guwahati, spending meaningful time interacting with the children, distributing sweets, and tying rakhis.
