49th All IITs Placement Committee (AIPC) Meet Takes Place at IIT Guwahati

The Centre for Career Development (CCD), IIT Guwahati, hosted the All IITs Placement Committee (AIPC) Meet with representatives from the placement teams of all 23 IITs. The two-day meeting included an Industry Conclave, featuring the first ever inclusion of industry professionals into the AIPC discussions.

The 49th All IITs Placement Committee (AIPC) Meet happened in IIT Guwahati on the 4th and 5th September 2026. The meet brought together placement team representatives from all 23 IITs for the two-day meeting focused on strengthening placement and internship practices across the IIT system.  

The meet commenced with an inaugural session graced by the presence of Prof. Devendra Jalihal, Director, IIT Guwahati, and Prof. Perumal Alagarsamy, Dean of Student Affairs, IIT Guwahati, and Dr. John Jose, Head, CCD and Convenor, AIPC.

The inaugural session was followed by the Industry Conclave, a key highlight of the event that, for the first time, brought industry professionals into the AIPC discussions.

Representatives from various organisations participated in panel discussions moderated by Dr. John Jose and Dr. Omkar S. Deshmukh, Faculty Coordinator for Internship, CCD, followed by a networking lunch and an Open House Session.

The interactions provided an opportunity for AIPC members and industry representatives to exchange perspectives on placement and internship policies, recruitment practices, and evolving industry expectations.  

The subsequent proceedings focused on detailed deliberations on placement and internship policies and practices across the IITs. A dedicated student representation session was also conducted, where concerns and grievances raised by students across various IITs were discussed and considered. The discussions provided a platform for sharing institutional experiences, identifying common challenges, and exploring reforms to further strengthen the placement ecosystem.  

The 49th AIPC Meet concluded successfully with meaningful discussions and constructive exchanges aimed at strengthening career development practices across the IITs. The Centre for Career Development, IIT Guwahati, was honoured to host the distinguished AIPC members and industry representatives and expresses its sincere gratitude to all participating IITs and industry partners for their valuable contributions.

Deshmukh, Faculty Coordinator for Internship; Dr. Biranchi Panda, Faculty Coordinator for Internship; Dr. Abraham Cyril Issac, Faculty Coordinator for Training and Corporate Relations; Ms. Akankshita Goswami, Career Development Officer, CCD, and Mr. Vishesh Jindal, Personality Development Trainer, CCD along with the dedicated staff, and student teams of IIT Guwahati.
