IITG Partners with Nutanix to Power Student Learning with GPUs, Design Equipment and Scholarships

A Nutanix delegation led by its Chief Technology Officer visited IIT Guwahati for the MoU signing ceremony in the Institute Board Room. The ceremony was attended by senior Deans and department heads. After the ceremony, the team toured several academic departments and schools and expressed enthusiasm for a partnership focused on technological advancement, knowledge exchange and talent development.

Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IIT Guwahati) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Nutanix, marking a significant step towards industry-academia engagement. The MoU focuses on GPU infrastructure for students, equipment support for the Department of Design, and scholarships for students.

The Nutanix delegation, led by Mr. Manosiz (Mano) Bhattacharyya, Chief Technology Officer (CTO), and Mr. N. Mahesh, Director, along with five officials, visited the IIT Guwahati campus for the occasion. The MoU signing ceremony was held in the Institute Board Room in the presence of Prof. Sukumar Nandi, Dean of Administration, Prof. Kaustuba Mohanty, Dean (Alumni, Corporate & International Relations - ACIR), HOD's of Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Design, Centre for Career Development & Faculty coordinator (Corporate relations).

During the programme, Prof. Kaustuba Mohanty provided an overview of IIT Guwahati's initiatives supported through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funding and highlighted opportunities for future collaboration. The meeting also featured discussions on the Institute's academic excellence, research ecosystem, innovation initiatives, and potential areas of partnership.

Following the formal exchange of pleasantries, both the parties signed an MoU and posed for a group photograph. The visiting CTO of Nutanix was presented with a traditional Assamese Gamosa and a memento.

A lunch was hosted for the delegation, after which the Nutanix team visited the Departments of Computer Science and Engineering, Design, Electronics and Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, and the Mehta Family School of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (DSAI). The delegation also toured the Design Labs and interacted with faculty members to explore opportunities for collaborative research and innovation.

The visit concluded on a positive note, with both IIT Guwahati and Nutanix expressing enthusiasm for building a mutually beneficial partnership that will contribute to technological advancement, knowledge exchange, and talent development.
